Applying all the right solutions to groundwater problems — on projects both large and small.
GAMBIT has gained the respect of our customers by applying all the right solutions to their groundwater problems on projects both large and small. Our dewatering expertise spans three primary system types.
Sump pumping is the simplest dewatering technique, involving collecting and removing water that accumulates in excavations. While effective in coarse soils, careful management is required in fine-grained soils where fine particles can be drawn out, resulting in ground movements and settlements if not properly controlled.
WellPoint dewatering is used for shallow excavations, typically for groundwater levels up to 6 meters below the surface. The system consists of a series of small-diameter wells (known as WellPoints) connected via a header pipe to the suction side of a suitable well point pump. The system draws water from the surrounding soil through each WellPoint screen.
Deep well arrays use submersible pumps positioned in individual wells drilled to depth below the required excavation level. These systems are more powerful, covering a wider area with fewer wells and pumps. Deep wells are particularly effective for large excavations, high water tables, or where significant groundwater drawdown is required.
